The collection presented on this page has been generously donated by Ms Jennifer Snelling of the United Kingdom in loving memory of her parents, Will and Mary Hooper, who travelled to India aboard Air-India in the late 1940s, during the pioneering years of the airline's international operations.
For more than seven decades, the Hooper family carefully preserved these souvenirs and travel mementoes as cherished reminders of their journey to India. Among the items are an original Air-India literature folder with its contents, photographs, travel memorabilia, and other objects that capture the elegance and spirit of Air-India's Golden Age. Recognising the historical importance of these treasured keepsakes, Jennifer chose to donate her family's collection to the Air India Collector Archive, ensuring that it would be permanently preserved, documented, and made accessible to collectors, researchers, historians, and aviation enthusiasts around the world. |
