The Karachi – Madras route extension flight of Tata Sons Ltd. (October 1932)
The Melbourne International Stamp Exhibition (the 34th Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) International Exhibition) was held between Thursday 30 March to Sunday 2 April 2017. Thousands of people across the world attended the event at Caulfield Racecourse, over four days. The atmosphere was buzzing, as attendees visited the more than 60 stall holders, spanning national and international stamp and coin dealers, auctions houses and more.
I participated in this exhibition to showcase my collection under the Philately Exhibit "CLASS 5 : AEROPHILATELY" and title of my exhibit was "THE KARACHI - MADRAS FLIGHT OF TATA SONS LTD. (OCTOBER 1932)".
My Exhibit was in Five Frames, each frame consist of 16 A4 size (21 cm X 29.7 cm) sheets.
The Exhibit covers the prelude to, and mail flow on this path breaking event and displays the Postage rates, Postmarks, various destinations and points of origin of mail. Many rare, and some unique, postal item are showcased.
There were 245 competitive exhibits, drawn from 19 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The competitive exhibits occupied 1,134 frames, this number constituting one side of the double-sided frames. On the conclusion of the exhibit, medals were awarded to the top-ranking exhibits under thier respective category and I have been awarded with "a Silver Medal".
